Towns

Of course every Borders town is proud of what makes it unique, from colourful accents to outlooks on life.  But underneath this strong sense of individual identity - a fierce local rivalry exhibited in competitive activites such as sport - these towns and places share many similarities, including the warmth of their people.  History bonds them, the Borders past and traditions dating from the Victorian Era upheld in annual Common Ridings and Festivals, some of which are not only very old, but also internationally famous in their own right.

It is Borders Experience policy to promote every Borders town, making use of web sites and local knowledge where available. Every town, every person and every business benefits the Borders region. By viewing the Borders as a whole, you can see how much greater it is than the sum of the individual parts, in what is the future for the Borders in the 21st Century - Leisure and Tourism.

Haste Ye Back.
